This is the first of a two-part SRT learning trip, and it is ideal to take part in both stages.
The first stage will be in Lysterfield Park and is an introduction to SRT gear and basic techniques.
The second stage will happen on the following weekend and it will be in vertical caves in Buchan. We will have multiple cave riggers for that trip and the group will be split into multiple caving parties. Each party will have their own guide/instructor to help you learn SRT and safely commute on ropes in the caves.
This trip is suitable for people with zero caving experience and for more advanced cavers that just want to practice. For cavers with zero experience, it’s imperative that you attend the Lysterfield Park stage of the trip. All rigging gear will be provided and for those that don’t have personal SRT gear, this can be borrowed for the weekend from the club.
