THE ZOOM MEETING THIS WEEK
The meeting this week will consist of a short introduction (housekeeping) by me (host and secretary)’; short report by Marg ( president) and an opportunity for some questions and answers (‘discussion’). This will be followed by a screen shared presentation on Balcony Cave from the 2016 Pungalina Expedition. Daryl Carr will give a couple of minutes introduction to the slide show as it does not have commentary but only music background. Pungalina is a karst area on the Gulf of Carpentaria and VSA had several expeditions to the area between 2005 and 2012. Balcony Cave is one of the more spectacular caves in the area. This presentation has not been made to VSA before now and is slightly over 10 minutes long. Some chance for questions might be able to be made ( we hope!).
Here is the invitation to the zoom meeting this week.
Please note that this is being sent out using my La Trobe system and uses my La Trobe email address rather than my personal address.
For those who are unfamiliar (or need help with) with Zoom:
1) You need a device eg computer, tablet or phone with the Zoom app installed and activated. Zoom is available free for limited use bit you cause the free system to join meetings. The paid subscription is needed for large group and long ,meetings ie over 40 minutes. If you don’t have a camera you can still see the screen as we use the screen sharing function of Zoom, but you will need plug in microphone/earphones if you don’t have one built in.
2) Your device needs either an installed microphone and camera or plug in camera/camera and these need to be turned on.
3) Click on the link below at about 7.30 pm on Wednesday and you need to enter the password below. I will be hosting the meeting so can let you in. This is so we do not get ‘bombed’. You will be asked to tune of your microphone during the meeting but questions will be able to be asked using the typed in ‘chat’ function.
If you have any questions regarding use of Zoom, email me and I may be able to help.
Best regards and hope to see you on Wednesday
