WHEN – Sunday 3rd to Tuesday 5th November 2013.
WHERE – Mt Buffalo National Park.
WHO – SRT competent cavers.
PROGRAM – Three days of caving & abseiling commencing on Sunday afternoon/evening and finishing midday Tuesday. Dave and/or James Chitty will be our experienced guides.
Sunday afternoon/evening – Exploration of Armageddon Cave, a vertical granite infill/slot cave requiring multiple abseiling and ascending.
Monday- A descent of the north wall of the gorge requiring a 160m single rope abseil. This is followed by a further three double rope pulldown abseils of 55, 50 & 35 meters Then the 400m climb-out involving a couple of short exposed technical moves. Estimated duration 8~10 hours dependent on participant numbers.
Tuesday morning – Exploration of the Underground River. A granite infill cave requiring full body immersion to traverse. No wetsuits required, only thermals to enhance the experience.
ACCOMMODATION – Tent based camping at a local caravan park off the mountain.
