A diving trip will take place in Elk River Cave on the long weekend of 11th, 12th and 13th of June, 2016.
Support (for portering, etc.) is requested from dry cavers. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated and would contribute to the ongoing success of this most important caving project.
The task is to assist the divers to get their equipment down to stream level through 3M-14 Baby Berger Cave. This is a relatively simple cave, but interesting and fun.
Going upstream or downstream in the stream passage (very wet and fun) is optional.
NOTE: SRT competence is essential, though only one short pitch is involved. Other interesting caving is possible while the divers are absent for long hours. Such as, the 40m descent in M14.
Logistics are as usual for Buchan: arrive Friday night, return Sunday evening, stay at Homeleigh. Monday, the 13th is Queen’s birthday public holiday, so you could extend your stay.
You must be a paid member to join this trip. If you are new to the club, you must bring a signed membership form and $50 to join as an introductory member.
This is a must because without payment of form, you will not be covered for ASF insurance, therefore you may not join the session.
Reply to me or Liz Rogers ASAP, only if interested and available, by email or phone/text.
NOTE: Kindly make sure that you are certain of your attendance. It helps in logistics. If unsure, kindly contact within a week of this trip’s dates.
