More work to be done on Refuge Cave. David is also keen to explore some other local geological formations that may lead to further discoveries. So, exploration and survey will be on the plan.
The Arch Cave is planned for Friday after dinner. This timing is to allow a full exploration of the lava tube while minimising disturbance of the resident bats.
Saturday morning is a dig party in Refuge and Shinbone Caves, located walking distance from camp, along with investigation of another potential void nearby.
Saturday afternoon is exploration of a “new to science” shaft in the Mt. Porndon Ring Barrier and survey completion of the shaft explored on the Spring trip.
Sunday morning has Rubbish and One Dome Caves on the agenda for those needing more lava tube action, with a concurrent dig party aiming to reopen a nearby cave that was closed around a century ago according to local legend.
There is limited bunk room style accommodation, hot showers, barbeque facilities and a fully featured coffee machine.
Saturday night dinner will be provided and if history is any guide, all our dairy needs then some, will be supplied by a local organic dairy farmer.
