You might be aware that earlier this year a descent of DD31 was thwarted by the discovery that its entrance had become blocked (some of you were on the trip). This blockage occurred only a few years after the cave, arguably Victoria’s best, was first discovered and explored. I believe that it can be re-opened by excavation of the fallen material, which is probably mainly soil. If the re-opening is successful, we can then enlarge the entrance somewhat (probably to the relief of not-so-small cavers!) in order to reduce the probability of a repeat occurrence. I plan to lead a trip for this purpose over the weekend 14/15 December.
Would you please let me know if you are interested in this worthy venture.
