  • 18/1/21 Update:
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the trip to Yarrangobilly is cancelled. The destination changed to Buchan instead. The dates are the same and the trip is currently full.
  • 7/12/2020 Update: The trip is currently full. There will be a waiting list in case people drop out, so email Tom Aberdeen if you’d like to add your name to that.
  • Australia Day Weekend (Saturday 23rd to Tuesday 26th January) to Yarrangobilly (AKA Yagby) in NSW
    • Leader will be Tom Aberdeen.
This trip will hopefully be in conjunction with NUCC (The Australian National University Caving Club) which is to be confirmed. There are some share accommodation options nearby including a basic caver’s cottage, and this is also currently being worked out, and the option is also there to camp if you would prefer. Yarrangobilly is a full day’s drive from Melbourne, and we will definitely car pool. It will be necessary to take the Monday off work (which is not a public holiday), so that we have a four day weekend. Some caves are likely to require SRT and water, and won’t be suitable for complete beginners, but recently joined and intermediate level cavers are welcome to come. This is first in best dressed, so RSVP as soon as possible, as the group is likely to be 7 or 8 cavers only. Yarrangobilly is recognised as some of the best caving on the mainland of Australia.
