General meeting followed by post-meeting presentation by Susan White :

Flat and very large but definitely not boring: VSA’s 20 years of searching for caves on the Nullarbor

Abstract
VSA has been exploring new caves for 20 years using Ken Boland and his ultra light plane(s) and ground truthing the spotted features. This has resulted in the documentation of over 3000 new karst features as well as many rockholes. The karst features include new caves, blowholes and dolines. Many of these features are small but some large and significant finds have been made.
This talk will outline the methods used and how these have developed over the two decades of exploration, as well as highlighting some of the more spectacular finds we have made. The discoveries have changed the way in which the speleogenesis of one of the world’s largest karst areas is understood.
