ALTO DEL TEJUELO SYSTEM
Alto del Tejuelo System is the largest system of caves in Spain and the 6th of Europe.
This system is shifted in seven different sectors under 12.000 mt2 of karstic landscape surroundings by valleys and the river Miera. The system comprise 280 entrances mostly of them communicated among them.
This system is settled in the North of Spain, province of Cantabria. Currently are working two groups, SECJA from Madrid (Spain) ad Spekul from Belgium. Nevertheless, since the explorations started by SECJA, almost 30 years ago, several groups from Spain and Belgium have been exploring together as a coordinated team, allowing all the connections and the discovering of thousands of galleries and chambers. This is the work of hundred of cavers giving to the system all them best, and the system continuous….

This July meeting will be held at the Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre.
