I am organising a caving trip on the weekend 14-15 December (soon!), but its destination is yet to be settled. Three options are (1) DD31 Swain Cave, exploring remaining leads, (2) Davies Cave at Bats Ridge Private, or (3) Yambuk.
Swain Cave is first-class: wet and a bit hard. A last chance to get your name onto the original explorers/surveyors credits. Davies Cave (Vic longest at over 3.5km) has been neglected for a couple of years, but there’s still new cave to find there: almost guaranteed. Yambuk is easy (some say trivial) caving, but it’s a fascinating little project that needs one last visit to finish it off. It’s the slack-but-fun option of the three, if that appeals.
All these locations are in Western Vic. Travel and accommodation logistics are all well rehearsed and civilised.
Which of the options goes ahead depends on responses. Any responses need to be really quick as there is accommodation to book. Reply to me on firstname.lastname@example.org
